Treatments
There are various methods of applications
for the medicines to act upon the eye
and the body. The major among them are
Kashayadhara, Nasya, Tarpana, Putapaka,
Pichu, Shashtika sweda, Talam, Shirodhara,
Shirovasti and Yakrut seva.
Kashayadhara
Measured dropping of herbal decoction
added with honey to the eyes from a
specific height for a specific period
is called Kashayadhara.
Nasya
Instilling medicated oil by drops into
both nostrill is known as Nasya.
Pichu
Placing cotton or cotton cloth soaked
in medicated oil over the centre of
head (Bregma)
for a specific period is called Pichu.
Shashtika sweda
Massaging with a poultice made with
herbal milk decoction paste over the
closed eyes for a prescribed time and
under controlled pressure is called
Shashtika sweda.
Shirovasti
This is one of the major therapies in
Ayurveda, carried out in cases of Neurological
eye disorders, Head ache, Thyroid dysfunction
and many other problems related with
pituitary gland.

Attended number of national and international
conferences on Ayurveda and traditional
medicine by presenting papers on Ayurvedic
Ophthalmic medicine. In 1997 the first
of it's kind eye camp in Ayurveda was
conducted at Jaipur in Rajasthan for a
period of 4 weeks where Dr.Gokullan treated
more than 1200 patients and was rewarded
for the same in a function there graced
by the presence of Shri. Bali Ram Bhagat,
the then governor of Rajasthan.
The first Ayurvedic graduate to receive
the prestigious life Fellowship of "
Ashoka Innovators" for the Public
from United states in 1993 for the kind
of innovative work he is doing for the
promotion of Ayurvedic Ophthalmology.
In 1999 he received a prestigious fellowship
- for the promotion of deprived children
in the world - called CRY (Child Relief
& You, based at Chennai,Tamilnadu).
Dr.B.G.Gokullan won the zone Kamalpatra
Award for outstanding career development
instituted by Indian Junior Chamber for
the year 1999.
Dr.Gokulan has appeared in many National
& international Television channels
including Discovery channel. Dr.Gokulan
has participated in making of the first
feature film on Ayurveda "Ayurveda
,the art of being" is released globally
a year ago. The same was previewed in
the last International Film Festival at
Mumbai.
