The Company was floated in 1985 and the foundation stone was laid by his Holiness Pope John Paul on 7th Feb. 1986. Visualized to house 500 beds and other supporting facilities the construction was started in 1988. The complexity and the magnitude of financial out lay necessitated the phasing of the project. Central Government Financial Institutions like ICICI, IDB, IFCI participated in the project by contributing 75% of the Project Estimation and the rest was met by the people of Trichur. On 28/10/1992 H.E. Sankar Dayal Sharma, former president of India inaugurated the first phase in a grand ceremony. The management of the hospital was entrusted to an eleven member board of Directors drawn from different walks of life but at the same time efficient and conversant with the administration. At the end of the phase 1, we were the first investor owned multi super Speciality Hospital in Kerala.
